The subject is rich with new insights from neuroscience and cognitive science regarding the role of emotions in learning and other human activities. Twenty-two articles address affective factors and variables with regard to the experiences of language learners (generally in classroom settings) and also of teachers, and the practical implications in various contexts. Editors Gabrys-Barker and Bielska are both affiliated with the U. of Silesia, Poland as are several contributors; others are based elsewhere in Poland, and there are a handful based elsewhere--Spain, the US, the UK, and Australia.
