<DIV>This is the story of one of Canada's warships, HMCS <i>Trentonian</i>. Like most of our corvettes, she was named for a Canadian city. The heart and soul of the ship and her crew came from every province in Canada.<br><br> One of 294 corvettes that became the backbone of the Allied Navy in the Second World War, her history has been gathered from official records detailing the life of a warship and the stories of the men who served in her. <i>Trentonian</i> was the last Canadian warship to be attacked by the Americans and the last corvette to be sunk by the Germans.<br><br> Three hundred photos taken by her crew and over thirty crew members' stories of life in the ship give a unique perspective of life on a warship, including the terror of being in a sinking ship and watching your shipmates die.<br><br></div>
