This volume contains 15 papers from the eponymous November 2008 workshop, part of a broader initiative intended to raise the profile of active female researchers in number theory and increase their participation in research activities. All female-authored, the papers include descriptions of results of collaborative research initiated at the workshop together with survey papers of important research topics in number theory. They are organized into sections devoted to moduli spaces and Shimura curves, curves and Jacobians over finite fields, Galois covers of function fields in positive characteristic, zeta functions of graphs, and three miscellaneous topics.
