The authors have kept this text relatively slim, given the vastness of the subject, and have endeavored to correlate the contents with a logically organized course. They begin with the development of banking law. Subsequent chapters cover structure choices, the increasing emphasis on capital, policies applicable to all depository institutions, bank expansion, financial institution subsidiary structures, holding companies, and bank examination and enforcement.
