Tao started the web log in 2007, and selections from the first two years have already been published by the American Mathematical Society. This volume presents lecture notes for a graduate course in real analysis that he taught at the University of California-Los Angeles. Described variously as a second course or the second half of the course, it assumes readers to be familiar with general measure theory, and real analysis at an undergraduate level. Eight related articles are also included, on such topics as the Stone and Loomis-Sikorski representation theorems, compactification and metriation, and amenability.
