The "bicultural artists" Einar and Jamex de la Torre combine ornate blown and flame-worked glass with cheap, mass-produced tchotchkes and found objects to create art that's both high and low, Mexican and American, dramatic and humorous. The text (a foreword, a hand-lettered interview with the artists, an essay on their "fine art of sacrifice," and a brief biography) is printed on red-bordered pages as bright as the brothers' glass objects, which are documented in lush color plates.
