Researchers from around the world offer 12 chapters explaining how to incorporate feminist approaches in evaluation and research. They address the theory of feminist evaluation and research, early influences of feminist theory on the evaluation field, the differences between evaluation and research, the role of the feminist evaluator, the transformative paradigm of evaluation, and evaluation by nonfeminist evaluators in development programs that aim to change the lives of women. They then discuss the application of feminist theory and methods in a variety of contexts, such as a substance abuse treatment program for traumatized women, international development in Angola, and evaluations in India and Latin America, and provide examples of research on school health programs in the US, Australia, and Canada, and with women farmers in Syria and midwives in Sub-Saharan Africa.
