In the outskirts of Garsoponga, a rural village in the Philippines, there is a valley where a perfectly round rainbow floats between the peaks during the rainy season. Only Toshio Mahahan, or "Japino" as everyone calls him because he's half-Japanese, knows the way to the Valley of the Rainbow.<BR>Abandoned by his Japanese father, and his prostitute mother dead, Japino is raised by his grandfather Gabe, a spirited old man with a buried past. Together they breed cocks for game fighting, a popular sport on Cebu island where they live.<BR>Life is relatively sleepy in Garsoponga until a former villager, now known as "Queen," returns to spread her newfound wealth to curry favor and manipulate the villagers like pawns. Queen enlists Japino to guide her and her companions into the Valley of the Rainbow, and the innocent boy suspects nothing from this unusual request. He will soon be thrust into a maelstrom of violence that will crush his worldview and temper his soul.
