Education, psychology, and autism specialists from the US and Canada contribute 11 chapters on evidence-based assessments and interventions for use in schools with children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder. They address basic psychometric principles and multitier screening and identification; a comprehensive developmental approach assessment model; assessment of cognitive, neuropsychological, academic, adaptive, and language and social functioning; assessment of co-occurring emotional and behavioral problems; and evidence-based interventions, with discussion of interventions in the classroom, special education and the Individualized Education Plan process, curriculum and program structure, collaboration between families and schools, and legal issues.
