In this memoir, rancher turned college professor George C. Frison chronicles his unique journey from herding cattle to the University of Wyoming's Anthropology Department. The memoir profiles both of the author's career paths, shedding light on how his work as a rancher informed his understanding of the hunting culture of the pre-historical inhabitants of the Northern Plains. Frison is Professor Emeritus of Anthropology at the University of Wyoming. He was the first state archaeologist of Wyoming, and served as President of the Plains Anthropological Society and the Society of American Archaeology.
