In 2007, Tao (mathematics, U. of California-Los Angeles) converted his web page into a blog (web log) where he discusses a wide range of mathematical topics, many of them elaborations of his lectures. He has published each of the first two years, and here collects 28 posts from the third year. Divided into expository and technical articles, they include sailing into the wind or faster than the wind, Moser's entropy compression argument, Szemerédi's regularity lemma via random partitions, an elementary non-commutative Freiman theorem, and the free nilpotent group.
