Cerasani, the son of Arthur Cerasani, a sculptor and artist who worked on Mount Rushmore, tells the story of how his father corresponded with his wife in New York during the work in 1940. He uses their letters and photos to relate their story, from their first meeting to their marriage, and describes the period when Arthur worked on the monument and the experiences he had working with Gutzon and Lincoln Borglum.
