Drawing on a study aimed at describing the embryology of the facial nerve and its relationship to the growth of the ear and focusing on the problem of facial nerve localization in surgical candidates with congenitally malformed ears (as well as other research), this volume details facial nerve development in relation to all parts of the ear, in addition to anomalies. It provides clinical surgical cases and discusses anomalies and abnormalities like dehiscence of the facial nerve, variations in position, and structural, congenital, and hereditary syndromes.
