Lew presents students, academics, researchers, and general-interest readers with an examination of the ethical dilemmas and possible risks involved with government-enforced interpretations of history, particularly as they apply to legal bans on holocaust denial. The author has organized the main body of his text in eleven chapters, covering holocaust denial law in Germany, holocaust denial under the Austrian Verbotsgesetz, genocide denial law in Switzerland, the French Lois M<’e>morielles, the Zündul case in Canada, and a variety of other related subjects.
