This book critically explores the United States government’s relationship with human spaceflight. Although multiple presidents have made impressive pronouncements regarding the future of space travel, funding is not keeping up with inflation and national commitment is low. Aimed at inspiring students and citizens to further human exploration and discovery, the authors examine the current and historical rationales for space travel, the benefits to stakeholders and the public and what long-term technical and financial support is needed to make human spaceflight a reality.
