Pelaschiar presents a collection of academic papers and scholarly articles focused on Shakespeare’s presence in the work of Irish novelist James Joyce. She has organized the contributions that make up the main body of the text in ten chapters devoted to a comparison of Shakespeare’s Othello to Joyce’s Ulysses, why Goethe’s Hamlet mattered to Joyce, Shakespearean gaps and the early modern method of analogy and correspondence in Joyce’s Ulysses, and a variety of other related subjects.
