Seeing globalization and capitalism as twin brothers can be dangerous, says political scientist Elsenhans, because it can lead to the loss of competition and equality and to politically acquired privilege. He argues that capitalism does not invariably lead to unlimited accumulation, that capitalists can only accumulate by increasing the consumption of others.
