Changing careers, veteran dancer Ferguson became a filmmaker concentrating on Mexico’s Sierra Madre, making many trips into Mexico from her home in Arizona. She writes with great empathy and imagery about the people of Mexico and presents her perspective on the plight of desperate people coming from the south seeking salvation in the north. While bringing water and aid to migrants crossing the unforgiving desert she learns in a very up-close-and-personal way what the border can mean--the danger, fear, and frustrations.
