This is a new edition of a comprehensive introductory textbook on international organizations for international relations and political science classes. This volume has been revised and updated to include new scholarship and information on developments and power shifts since 2009. Chapters look at theories of governance, the UN and global governance, international governmental organizations, regional organizations, non-state actors (NGOs), and areas of governance (peace and security, economic governance, economic well-being, human rights, the environment, and governance dilemmas). New features include a wider range of theoretical approaches in the chapter on theories, and an expanded focus on regional organizations and emerging forms of governance.
