Editors Barbone and Brzechczyn present readers with a collection of academic contributions focused on the ontological, epistemological, and historical accounts of the use of models in scientific practice and discovery. The editors have organized the thirteen selections that make up the main body of the text in three parts devoted to general problems associated with idealization, idealization in the social sciences, and idealization in the humanities.
