Commissioned by a UK goverment agency and intended for professionals working with children and families in health, education, or social care, this volume was produced by the faculty of health and social care at The Open U., the NSPCC and Royal Holloway College, and the U. of London. Sixteen contributed chapters consider child development through adolescence in terms of genetic and biological influences, parenting, the community and environment, attachment, self-development, and knowledge and identity.
