The authors, who developed many of their ideas from their experience as practicing teachers, describe integration activities, assessment and curriculum modifications for practitioners as well as for families and caregivers. They describe their theories about role of sensory dysfunction and sensory integration, the impact of concomitant diagnoses such as autism spectrum disorder, ADHD and Bipolar disorder. Their descriptions of how school and home settings add or subtract to success in working with affected children include practical advice about organizing treatment and finding solutions, including the seldom-seen idea of adapting to the child. In a very interesting chapter they address Asperger's Syndrome and the complex responses to it from professionals and families, and they supply two long-term case studies.
